Dan Kavanagh 

Dan worked in the  construction industry before deciding on a career change and worked in real estate sales on the Mornington Peninsula.  After a successful 10 years in Real Estate Dan decided to follow his passion for gardening and teamed up with life long friend and qualified landscape gardener Emmett Higgins to start Beachside Garden and Property Maintenance. 

“Being a resident of St Andrews Beach I use my local knowledge to benefit my clients. My passion is gardening and I’m often asked about local plants and shrubs, what are the best to plant  that will also thrive in our environment. Being able to answer enthusiastically and in detail is beneficial to clients who don’t know the area so well.”

When not gardening Dan enjoys spending  time with wife Fran and their 2 children. Dan is a died in the wool Saints supporter, keen cricket follower and golfer.

Emmett Higgins

Emmett completed his landscaping apprenticeship in 2003 working for renowned landscaping company Gardenridge in the inner Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. During  this time Emmett learnt many skills in landscape design and construction. “ Working with such a renowned company gave me the opportunity to learn skills not only in the landscape industry but also in outdoor construction. I love gardening and outdoor living and have a keen eye for detail.”

Emmett lives in Tootgarook with his long time girlfriend Brie and their two dogs. When not hard at work Emmett enjoys pottering in his own garden, having a hit of golf, following the fortunes of his beloved Essendon Bombers and enjoying a cold beer with family and friends.
